Pianist - Bassist - Composer - Educator
Welcome to my website, thanks for dropping by.
I’m an Englishman living in New York, spitting my time between playing piano and bass, composing and teaching. I grew up in London and moved to the US in 1991. I’ve made a bunch of recordings featuring some of the finest musicians around, such as Uri Caine, Helio Alves, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Casey Benjamin, George Colligan, Terrion Gully, Silvia Cuenca and Anthony Pinciotti as well as my own work.

“ make no mistake, this music jumps out of the speakers, commands attention, and is well worth repeated listening”

I got into playing piano seriously about 10 years ago and it now forms major part of what I do. As a leader/composer/improviser whole new avenues of expression have opened up. You can check out what I've been up to on my latest recording, just out June 2013 ‘The Feeling of Jazz’ features myself on piano, Eric Halvorson, drums, Bill Moring, bass and special guest, the great Donny McCaslin on tenor saxophone. It’s a beautiful and varied recording that touches on Gospel, ECM, lots of Swing and Soul. There are four of my original compositions, and three special arrangements of tunes by Monk, Ellington and Kern.
As as sideman I’ve worked with such artists as Kenny Werner, Bobby Wellins, Danilo Perez, Edsel Gomez, Jon Hendricks and Annie Ross, The Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra, Central Baptist Gospel Choir and so many more.
There’s a ton of music here for you to listen to and enjoy and feel free to poke around the videos, calendar and buy music if you feel so inclined.
